Opt-in using the link above to receive Placer Alerts (also called Tahoe Alert, Citizen Alert and Everbridge Community). Safety agencies in Placer County have partnered to use this community notification system to alert residents about emergency events and other important public safety information.

Opt in by texting our zip code, 96146, to 888777. Everbridge Nixle is a secondary alert system the Olympic Valley Fire Department and the Public Service District may use to share critical public safety information. It is important you also sign up for Placer Alert.

Sheriff vehicles with Hi/Low sirens mean LEAVE NOW!

Reverse 911 – Emergency alerts will be sent to landlines within an affected zone, no need to opt-in.

Listen to local radio for emergency and evacuation information.

The Wireless Emergency Alerts system is an essential part of America’s emergency preparedness. WEA is a public safety system that allows customers who own compatible mobile devices to receive geographically targeted, text-like messages alerting them of imminent threats to safety in their area.
